The Northern Optics meetings are organized jointly by the Optical Societies of Denmark, Finland, Lithuania, and Sweden, and the Physical Societies of Estonia, Latvia, and Norway.
Northern Optics 2006 (NO2006) was the third meeting in the Northern Optics series. The previous meetings took place in Uppsala in 2000 and Espoo in 2003. The Norwegian Electro-optics meeting 2006 was incorporated in NO2006.
